Project description
FRANCESCA (Furniture Renewal and Alternative New Circular Efficiency Strategies through Creative Approaches) is an EU-funded project with a budget of more than €5.3 million. It is a consortium of 15 organisations from 7 countries (technology centres, universities and companies) coordinated by CETEM, launched to drive a shift towards a more circular model in the furniture sector in Europe.
Over the next three years, the consortium will develop solutions so that furniture can be designed, manufactured, repaired and recycled more efficiently, reducing waste and encouraging the reuse of materials, while incorporating more sustainable materials into its production. The project will also promote innovation in circular business models, and the direct participation of companies in the sector will be key to ensuring that the results respond to real needs and reach the market.
At Símbiosy, we play a fundamental role as a technological and strategic partner, acting as leader of the Work Package on Circular Materials, including a market study on circular materials, as well as the use of its SYNER platform to map and facilitate the connection between resource suppliers and furniture manufacturers.
FRANCESCA partners: Innovawood, RISE, CIT, IETU, Oxfam, SANCAL, CETEM, Símbiosy, Sonae, FAMA, FAMO, FLA, Ecores.
