On January 23rd, the Símbiosy team and ITeC (Institute of Construction Technology of Catalonia) coordinated the Living Lab Barcelona, the first in a series of multidisciplinary workshops on industrial symbiosis in the construction sector, as part of the European project FISSAC.
Key representatives covering all levels of the value chain in the construction and demolition sector participated in the session: research, design, promotion, construction, materials procurement, maintenance, use, demolition, and waste management.
Through the exchange of experiences and knowledge among attendees, the group’s shared interests, needs, and opportunities were identified. The results of this first session will serve as a basis for delving into more specific issues during the next Living Lab Barcelona, which will take place in about three months, again at the ITeC facilities.
