Project description
INSET is a European project focused on strengthening the capacities needed to promote industrial symbiosis in Europe through digital, practical and accessible training. Its aim is to help professionals, public bodies, consultants, clusters and companies better understand how to identify collaboration opportunities, turn waste into valuable resources and launch viable initiatives within the industrial ecosystem.
To this end, the project has developed a free online training pathway focused on industrial symbiosis.
In addition, INSET complements this training with applied resources, such as a collection of European best practices, a handbook for networking sessions and a web application that centralises the content and facilitates access to learning.
Results achieved
One of the project’s main results is the creation of a training programme of approximately 100 hours that combines online training and self-paced learning.
The course includes several modules on the fundamentals of industrial symbiosis, project design and management, legal and financial aspects, and the cross-cutting skills needed to promote this type of initiative.
In addition, the programme offers two differentiated professional pathways:
- One focused on the strategic planning of industrial symbiosis projects.
- And another focused on their management and implementation.
Key highlight
One of the project’s main innovations is that the training programme is aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which facilitates the recognition of the competencies acquired.
The course is delivered through a digital platform that allows users to access the content from any device, supporting flexible and accessible training for professionals from different countries.
